Classes & Support
One of our many missions at KVCH is to provide information and education designed to promote health and wellness to our patients and throughout our community. We accomplish this through classes, speaker's programs and health fairs.
HEALTH CLASSES
Diabetes Self-Management Training
KVCH offers a comprehensive diabetes education program under the supervision of an experienced diabetes teaching team including a certified diabetes educator, registered nurse, and registered dietitians.
A physician's referral is required for this class.

Childbirth Class
The goal of this six-week series is to provide expectant mothers and their support person with the knowledge and confidence needed to give birth and make informed decisions. Pre-registration is required.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & SUPPORT
Cancer Survivor Support Group
Guest speakers discuss cancer prevention, detection, and treatment, as well as cancer research and the results of clinical trials.
This group meets the second Monday of each month except December and January.

Reach to Recovery
Breast cancer survivors provide one-on-one support and information to help individuals cope with breast cancer. Specially trained volunteers respond to the concerns of people facing breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, recurrence, or recovery.
On-going support group meets twice a year in December and June.
Diabetes Education Support Group
This group's monthly meetings offer the latest information on diabetes self-care, nutrition, and an opportunity to talk to others living with diabetes.

Patient Assistance Prescription Program
A program for uninsured and low income patients
Services include the following:
- Completion of the application process
- Acquisition of a current written prescription from the patient's physician
- Mailing and tracking prescription information
- The original process takes 4-6 weeks to receive medications
*Patient must have proof of income.

Bereavement Support
Our bereavement service offers compassionate guidance and support for those grieving after the loss of a loved one. Please call the Hospice Department to make an appointment for counseling.

The TPRC offers trainings that are free to the public such as Putting Your Healthy Youth Survey Results To Work, Motivational Interviewing, Helping Teens Stop Using Tobacco, and Making Meetings Work: The Art Of Facilitation.

The Tobacco Quit Line is available to anyone who is interested in quitting tobacco. When a participant calls, a Registration Specialist will answer the call and ask for some information such as insurance and employment status to ensure that the participant receives the highest benefit available from the Quit Line. The Quit Line provides individually tailored phone based support, self help materials, and free nicotine patches and gum. The number for the Tobacco Quit Line is 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
