History & Accomplishments:
Since its inception in 1986, The Foundation at KVCH has been working to enhance programs that promote, encourage, and assist the improvement and expansion of excellent healthcare at KVCH. We are proud of what we have accomplished in the past and are working hard to do even more.
1986 |
KVCH Foundation officially established as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, not-for-profit organization. The original Board of Directors included 10 individuals. |
| 1988 | The Foundation purchased a physical therapy exercise bike. |
| 1989 | The Foundation purchased a GYN table for use in the Emergency Department. The Foundation also purchased a new examination table and stool. |
| 1990 | Provided partial funding for remodel of the Surgical Services area. Portable X-ray machine purchased from donations made to the Dottie Smith Memorial. |
| 1991 | The KVCH Endowment fund was established with a funding goal of $1 million to secure the future sustainability of the hospital. |
| 1992 | The Foundation began focusing on fundraising for the remodeling and updating of the birthing center at KVCH. |
| 1994 | Purchased a bed and furnishings for the Obstetrical Services (OB) Department for a newly remodeled Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Post-Partum (LDRP) room. |
| 1995 | Purchased second bed and furnishings for OB department LDRP room. |
| 1996 | Purchased a blood bank freezer for the lab. Purchased microwaves for the OB Department and Cafeteria. Purchased two roll-away beds. |
| 1997 | Completion of two new LDRP rooms for the OB Department. The Foundation made a $2500 contribution toward the establishment of the Community Health Library. The Community Health Library at KVCH provides health education materials to the community. |
| 1998 | The Foundation made a contribution to the Citizens for KVCH Bond Levy Campaign. Purchased reference manual for the Emergency Department. |
| 2000 | The Foundation advanced funding for the sponsorship of the first Duck Derby fundraiser to benefit the Community Health Library. Purchase of two wooden cribs for the OB Department. |
| 2004 | Reached $1 Million Endowment Goal. |
| 2006 | The Foundation purchased a new ultrasound machine for KVCH capable of providing images in color and in greater detail. |
| 2007 | The Foundation purchased a new X-ray machine for KVCH. |
| 2008 | The Foundation funds the remodel of the Medical Surgical Unit at KVCH and a new Defibrillator for the Cle Elum Medical Center The Foundation raises $45,000 with the 2008 Magical Evening Fund-a-Need to purchase two new Defibrillators for KVCH. |
