The New Defibrillators have arrived at KVCH!
The two new Defibrillators that were purchased by generous donors during the 2008 Magical Evening Fund-a-Need have arrived. The two new Defibrillators were purchased with the $45,000 that was raised during the inaugural Fund-a-Need at Magical Evening on April 19, 2008.
A Defibrillator is a life saving piece of equipment that administers a controlled electric shock to the chest or heart to correct a critically irregular heartbeat, allowing the heart to start again and maintain a controlled rhythm.
The new Defibrillators will allow KVCH to treat the citizens of Kittitas County with the best equipment available. The new Zoll Defibrillators uses newer technology, increasing the success rate of saving lives and also saving more heart tissue with the innovative application on energy.

KVCH Foundation presents Cle Elum Medical Center with Donation
(Cle Elum) February 29, 2008---The Kittitas Valley Community Hospital Foundation, which directly supports the programs and services of KVCH, presented the newly renovated Cle Elum Medical Center with a special donation during the Open House Ceremonies on Saturday, February 23, 2008.
“The Foundation is pleased to fund a new state-of-the-art defibrillator for the Cle Elum Medical Center”, said Heather Paul, Foundation Director. “The new Zoll Defibrillator uses the most advanced technology available and the Foundation is thrilled to be able to make this purchase for CEMC.”

The new $22,000 defibrillator was presented to Dr. Elizabeth Wise by Foundation Board President, Jim Pappas, during the Open House festivities which included a dedication of the new clinic and tours of the new facility.
The medical center, located at 201 Alpha Way, now incorporates the previously separate Cle Elum Urgent Care Center into the same building and is operated by Kittitas Valley Community Hospital.
“The Foundation at KVCH has had tremendous success over the past three years,” said Foundation Board President, Jim Pappas, “distributing over $425,000 to KVCH to fund advanced medical equipment and facility improvements.”
The Foundation at KVCH hopes to raise funds to purchase additional defibrillators for KVCH during their 5th Annual Magical Evening benefit which is scheduled for April 19, 2008.

KVCH Foundation funds Med/Surg Remodel and new Defibrillator
The Foundation at KVCH presented a check to Kittitas Valley Community Hospital for $180,455. The release of funds is one of the largest in Foundation History thanks to generous donations from the community.
The funds will be used to renovate the Medical Surgical unit of the Hospital and purchase a new state-of-the art defibrillator for the Cle Elum Medical Center.
The Medical Surgical remodel will begin in March and consist of a complete remodel of the 13 rooms on the unit. Rooms will be remodeled two at a time as to not disturb patient care.
The remodel will convert the rooms from semi-private to all private patient rooms. The remodel includes new plumbing and electrical, new flooring and window coverings, new cabinetry, and new faucets and Corian sinks in the bathrooms. The remodel will also include new technology with updated modern headwall units for housing medical gasses and an updated nurse’s call system.
Thanks to overwhelming community support The Foundation at KVCH is also privileged to purchase a new state-of-the art defibrillator for the newly renovated and expanded Cle Elum Medical Center. The defibrillator will replace the existing defibrillator with the newest technology on the market.
