Board of Directors


The Foundation at KVCH is governed by a Board of Directors drawn from Kittitas County's civic volunteers, businesses, educational and healthcare professionals. These individuals work together, donating their personal time and talents to direct the Foundation's policies while working to help enhance the Hospital's future.

Connie Dunnington, President

Connie Dunnington is the Financial Coordinator at George Orthodontics and spends her time raising her children, running her farm, and volunteering with various organizations. Connie has lived in Kittitas County all her life and has served on the Board of Directors since 2002. Connie enjoys working with the youth in Kittitas County through 4H and the schools. Connie fills her remaining time with horses and spending time with her family.

 

 

Paula Williams, Vice President

Paula Williams is retired from Pautzke Bait Co., Inc. She has served on the Board of Directors since 2005 and has lived in Kittitas County since 1952. Paula's interests include medicine, golfing, tennis, and hiking with her husband John Nixon.

 

 

Jerry Grebb, Treasurer
Jerry Grebb is a local CPA. Jerry has served on the Board since 1998 and has lived in the Valley for 35 years. Jerry considers himself a fair-weather golfer, and enjoys playing when the weather is good.

 

 

Cindy Smith, Secretary

Cindy Smith is the Human Resource Director for the City of Ellensburg

 

 

 

Arlein Anderson
Arlein Anderson is owner of Anderville Farms Inc. and has lived in Kittitas County since 1960. Arlein has served on the Board of Directors since 2005 and fills her free time participating in Big Game Hunting, golfing, traveling and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

 

 

Connie Anderson

Connie Anderson is retired teacher and an active community member in Upper County.

 

 

Bill Boyum

Bill Boyum is retired as the Regional Manager of the Southeast Region of the Department of Natural Resources. Bill is newly elected to the Foundation Board in November 2011.

 

 

Brian Cullinane

Brian Cullinane moved to Ellensburg from the Tri-Cities in 2004.  Since moving to the Kittitas Valley, Brian has been very active in the Community.  Besides serving on the Hospital Foundation Board, Brian served on several community boards and commissions.  Brian has been active in supporting Central Washington University, pushing for capital project funding, supporting athletics, music and alumni activities.  Prior to moving to Ellensburg, Brian was involves with the Kennewick General Hospital Foundation and raising funds to build the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.

 

 

Jim Daly

Jim Daly works as a stock broker/investment advisor. Jim has lived in the Kittitas Valley since 1975 and served on the Foundation Board of Directors since 1991. Jim enjoys outdoor activities including tennis, golf, hiking, and snorkeling in his free time. Jim also enjoys travel and investing.

 

 

Susan Harrel
Susan Harrel is an attorney and life-long Kittitas County resident. Susan has served on the Board of Directors since 2007. Susan's interests include snow skiing, horseback riding, hiking, and supporting the interests and activities of her two children.

 

 

Kathryn Houck
Kathryn Houck is the NextGen Projects Coordinator for Kittitas Valley Community Hospital (KVCH). Kathryn has lived in the Kittitas Valley since 1992 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2004. Kathryn enjoys the outdoors including biking, camping, and gardening and her annual family vacation to Canada.

 

 

Paul Jewell
Paul Jewell is a Commissioner for the City of Ellensburg. Paul has served on the Board since 2006 and has lived in the Kittitas Valley since 1995. Paul's interests include anything to do with exploring the outdoors including hiking, camping, biking and fishing.

 

 

Ginger Longo. MD

Ginger Longo is a board-certified OB/GYN and the lead physician for Sakrua Women's Health. Ginger was born in San Angelo, Texas and trained at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston for both Medical School and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Prior to medical school, Dr. Longo spent nine years as a nurse. Ginger relocated to Ellensburg in 2007 with her husband, Dr. Anthony Longo and four daughters.

 

 

Tyler Miller

Tyler Miller is the publisher for the Daily Record.

 

 

James G. Pappas

Jim Pappas is a Professor of Education and Director of Academic Service Learning at CWU. A long-time CWU Administrator, Jim has lived in Kittitas County for over 20 years and has served on the Foundation Board since 1989. In his free time Jim enjoys traveling, outdoor activities and volunteering for human service organizations.

 

 

Zora Peterson

Zora Peterson has lived in Ellensburg for nearly 20 years.  Zora has worked in the Banking industry for 35 years and is currently an Account Executive for Fiserv Inc. headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin.  Zora's past volunteer opportunities include United Way of Kittitas County, Clymer Museum of Art and Hopesource.  Zora is married to Ken Peterson who owns Car Wash and Quick Lube locations in Ellensburg and Sunnyside.  Zora and Ken have a daughter Danae and a son Brandon; both graduated from Ellensburg High School and Central Washington University.  In her free time Zora enjoys scrapbooking, sewing and gardening.

 

 

Mark Raaka

Mark Raaka is a paramedic and the Operations Manager for Upper Kittitas County Medic One (Kittitas County Hospital District #2). Mark has lived in Kittitas County since 1998, and currently resides in Cle Elum. Mark's interest include working around the house, hiking, cooking, and enjoying time with his wife Rhiannon and four children; Kyle, Jacqui, McKenzie and Aiden.

 

Scott Rollins

Scott Rollins owns Scott Rollins Insurance in Ellensburg and Cle Elum.  Scott is an active community member involved in several organizations including the Ellensburg Rotary Club.

 

Mary Seubert
Mary Seubert is retired and prior to retiring she worked in business, teaching, ranching, and as a County Commissioner. Mary has lived in the Kittitas Valley since 1942 and has served on the Board of Directors since 1988. Mary enjoys the Ellensburg Rodeo, County Fair, cooking, and traveling. Mary believes in enjoying each and every day.

 

 

Melva Schmidt   Bold

Melva Schmidt retired from KVCH after 31 years as an RN. She worked part time when the hospital opened in 1964. She spent 17 years as Nursing Administrator. Melva and her husband raise cattle and hay, spend time with children and grandchildren. They like to travel and visit friends and family, antique and play golf. 

 

 

Krista Summers, MD 

Krista Summers is a physician at The Valley Clinic.  Krista earned her medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her residency at Swedish Family Medicine Residency Cherry Hill in Seattle. In her free time Krista loves to travel, read and spend time outdoors.

 

 

Hartwig Vatheuer
Hartwig Vatheuer retired from Plum Creek Timber. Hartwig has lived in Kittitas County for over 30 years and spends his free time with his wife Mary and two sons on his hobby farm located just south of Cle Elum.
